Union Coop Reports Strong H1 2025 Growth on Expansion, Digital Push

Union Coop posted solid financial results for the first half of 2025, driven by retail expansion, digital innovation, and customer-focused initiatives.

The cooperative recorded AED 173.6 million in net profit after tax, up 6.4% from AED 163.14 million in H1 2024, with profit before tax reaching AED 192 million. Total income climbed to AED 1.158 billion, supported by AED 1.031 billion from retail sales, AED 88 million from real estate, and AED 39 million from other sources.

Second-quarter profit rose 13% year-over-year, highlighting operational efficiency. Customer growth also surged, with a 30% increase in new shoppers and a 24% rise in online sales.

Expansion efforts included the launch of one new mall and three stores in Al Khawaneej, Nad Al Sheba, and Rukan Community. The retailer also enhanced convenience with Scan&Go in two stores and Check&Go in seven outlets.

Union Coop emphasized community impact, reaching a 35% Emiratization rate, recruiting 80 National Service members, and employing 721 women. Its efforts earned accolades including Best Brand Communication Campaigns 2025 and Most Admired Customer Experience at the Golden Spoon Awards.

CEO Mohamed Al Hashemi attributed the performance to shareholder trust, employee dedication, and customer loyalty, reaffirming Union Coop’s vision for sustainable growth and retail leadership in the UAE.
