Oluwatoyin Akintayo is a visionary entrepreneur, export consultant, and innovation advocate with over 18 years of experience spanning insurance, banking, IT, and media. As the CEO and Global Export Director of Wetin Dey Global, he leads the company’s mission to connect premium Nigerian food and agro-products with international markets—empowering farmers, reducing post-harvest losses, and expanding Africa’s footprint in global trade.

A passionate believer in food security and trade transformation, he champions the development of inclusive, resilient supply chains and advocates for value addition as a strategic lever for long-term economic growth. His work supports the vision of the AfCFTA and contributes to building smarter trade ecosystems across the continent.

In July 2025, Wetin Dey Global was honored with the Best African Agro-Trade Pioneer of the Year (Nigeria) award at the MEA Markets African Excellence Awards. This recognition highlights the company’s innovative contributions to agro-export, its commitment to quality, and its leadership in repositioning African products on the global stage.

Oluwatoyin has represented Wetin Dey Global, a proudly Nigerian company, at major international trade exhibitions, including Gulfood (Dubai), Food Africa (Cairo), and Africa’s Big 7 (Johannesburg). He is also preparing for upcoming participations at the China International Import Expo and Anuga Food Fair, furthering the company’s mission to expand its international reach and connect more global buyers with the richness of Nigerian food and agro-products.

He possesses a nuanced and practical understanding of country-level market dynamics across Africa, informed by years of working closely with diverse markets and stakeholders. His deep insight into regulatory frameworks, consumer behavior, trade logistics, and regional integration makes him a trusted partner for African SMEs aiming to scale globally and international brands looking to enter or expand across African markets. This dual perspective positions him as a go-to expert for building successful, cross-border trade relationships rooted in local context and global ambition.

Oluwatoyin holds a B.Sc. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ibadan and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Innovation, Intrapreneurship & Entrepreneurship at James Hope University, where he was awarded a competitive scholarship. He is an Affiliate Member of the Chartered Institute of Export & International Trade and completed the Export Management Programme at Lagos Business School, refining his strategic perspective on international trade.

Through every initiative, Oluwatoyin remains steadfast in his belief that Africa’s future lies in bold trade, strategic innovation, and the elevation of local producers, ensuring the continent moves from raw material supplier to global value creator.
